THE ARTIST HAS ALWAYS HAD A FANCY FOR A VERY OLD ARTIST NAMED “INGRES” WHO DID MANY WONDERFUL PAINTINGS IN THE DAYS OF MICHELANGELO AND DA VINCI. KEN ADDED A LITTLE TOUCH OF M.C. ESCHER WHICH PLAYED VERY WELL IN THE BABIES HAND. THESE ARE ACTUALLY TWO DIFFERENT INGRES PAINTINGS COMBINED INTO ONE. KEN ADDED HIS OWN LITTLE TOUCHES LIKE THE PAPER AIRPLANE AND THE IMPOSSIBLE TRIANGLE. ALSO A CLEVER THOUGHT WAS HAVING THE LADY PAINTING ONE OF KEN’S OWN DRAWINGS ON CANVAS. THIS PARTICULAR WORK IS THOUGHT OF HIGHLY BY THE ARTIST AND REFLECTS HIS OWN ATTITUDE OF THE PRESERVATION OF ART HISTORY AND GIVING IT A TWIST OF HIS OWN AS IF HE WERE PART OF THE INGRES PAINTING ITSELF.
THIS REALLY SATISFIED ME BECAUSE I CAUGHT THE ESSENCE INGRESS ORIGINALLY HAD IN THE TWO CHARACTERS. I REALLY GET OFF DRAWING OR MIMICKING A LOT OF THE OLD MASTERS AND ADDING A BIT OF MY OWN SURREALISM TO THESE OLDIES BUT GOODIES. I HAVE DRAWN MORE OF INGRESS PAINTINGS THAN I HAVE ANY OTHER MASTER ARTIST.
